How to install OverDrive & check-out Audiobooks on your Apple iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone
1) Go to the App Store.
2) Search for OverDrive Media Console.
3) OverDrive Media Console will be a free app.
Tap on Free, then tap on Install.
4) Enter your Apple ID Password, then OK.
5) OverDrive will begin to load on your device.
6) Open OverDrive when the download is complete.
7) Tap Get Books.
8) Tap on Add a Website.
9) Enter your library by name, city or ZIP code, in this example 54022 for River Falls.
10) Tap on your local library, in this example River Falls.
11) Under your library name, tap WiLS (Wisconsin Public Library Consortium).
12) You will be directed to the Wisconsin Public Library Consortium website where you can search for ebooks and MP3 Audiobooks.
13) Tap Browse all OverDrive MP3 Audiobook
Titles.
(Your iPod Touch or iPhone is limited to
audiobooks on MP3.)
14) When you find an available audiobook title you would like to checkout, tap on Add to My Cart
15) In your Cart, you will have the option to remove your selection. Slide the screen up and below Remove, tap on Proceed to Checkout
16) You will need to login. Slide the screen up and then click on the little arrow to select your library.
17) Select the Indianhead Federated Public Library. This will work for all MORE Library Consortium library card holders.
18) Enter your library card number,
then tap Login.
(You must have an up-to-date
MORE library card with less than $10.00 in fines to check-out. If you
do not have a library card, go to your local Wisconsin public library to
sign-up for a card. To find your local IFLS library, go to
http://www.ifls.lib.wi.us/Default.aspx?tabid=150 or to find your
closest local Wisconsin library go to
http://dpi.wi.gov/pld/wisysdir.html#public.)
19) After a few moments, you will be back in your cart. Click on Confirm check out.
21) Click on Download.
22) Your title will begin to load.
23) Depending on your connection speed, your audiobook will download in parts. You can see which part is being downloaded by the red number next to Get Books.
24) You can also see the progress of your download by tapping the title.
25) Tap the title to begin listening to your audiobook.
26) Click on the || symbol to pause or the arrow symbol to play.
27) You can also see a description of the audiobook or navigate by tapping the setting at the top of the screen.
