Noon Year's Eve Party
Tuesday, December 31 from 11:00am - 12:30pm in the Lower Level​
Noon Year's Eve is a party for kids where they can participate in all the fun of New Year without staying up until midnight. Help us ring in the new year at Noon instead. We will have crafts, games, treats, and even a balloon drop!

Closing for New Years
Closing early at 5pm on Tuesday, December 31 and closed all day on Wednesday, January 1

One entry per person/group

Prizes will be awarded for:  

Traditional/Architectural

  • Adult (ages 17 and up)
    1st place - $40

  • Youth (ages 16 and under)

Whimsical Designs

  • Adult (ages 17 and up)
    1st place - $40
    2nd place - $25
  • Youth (ages 16 and under)
    1st place - $40
    2nd place - $25         

Kit Design

  • 1st Place - $20

Graham Cracker Design
(Grade 3 and younger only)

  • 1st Place -  $10
    2nd Place -  $5

 People’s Choice

  • 1st Place - $50

Chamber Checks keep spending local and will be awarded at all prize levels in 2019.

Details

  • Entry into Traditional/Architectural and Whimsical categories must be original - no gingerbread kits allowed. Kits are allowed in the “Kit” design category.
  • All entries must have major components (such as walls and roofs) constructed of gingerbread.
  • Sucker sticks, wrapped candies, battery-operated lights, and minimal non-edible décor is allowed.
  • Entries must have been constructed in 2019.
  • Entries will be judged on Originality, Overall appearance, Use of gingerbread, Choice and use of other materials, and Difficulty of design.
  • Entries must be no bigger than 24”x18” and must be freestanding.
  • Entries must be delivered in completed form to River Falls Public Library by 7:45pm on Wednesday, December 4.
  • Please, no drop off before Monday, December 2.
  • You may work in groups, but you may only be part of one entry.
  •  Judging will take place on Thursday, December 5.  People’s Choice voting ends Wednesday, December 11. All winners will be announced December 12.  Creations will remain on display at the library through the end of the day on Wednesday, December 18, and must be picked up by 6pm on Friday, December 20 (entries left after Dec 21 will be thrown away).
